Researcher with expertise in Recombinant Protein Expression and Purification

SUCCIPRO (www.succipro.com), a dynamic and innovative spin-off company born from the DIAMET research team (www.diamet.org), part of the Institut D’Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV) http://www.iispv.cat), is seeking to fill one position for a Researcher. While previous experience in protein expression and purification is a must, knowledge on general biochemical in vitro and in vivo techniques, as well in analytical methods will be also valued.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Tarragona. The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of SUCCIPRO’s  herapeutic compounds.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Routine production of recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli for
multiple research activities.

·       In-house optimization of the protein production process (both
upstream and downstream), including fermentation parameters,
purification protocols for in vitro and in vivo applications and endotoxin
removal strategies to meet high-level standards.

·       Reporting to Drug Discovery Director and project management of
production.

·       Support in the supervision of external CDMO activities

·       Independently perform a variety of laboratory experiments and
procedures. These may include molecular biology, cell culture and
biochemistry.

·       Support in animal procedures, in coordination with the rest of the
preclinical team

·       Support in analytical procedures

Qualifications:

·       A degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline is
required.

·       Previous experience in protein expression and purification is a must. Previous
experience with an ÄKTA go™ chromatography system will be valued

·       A certificate of Research Personnel User of Experimental Animals title on animal
handling is not compulsory but will be highly valued.

·       Fluent professional English is required.

·       Proficient computer skills (normal user level).
